Obiettivi

L'obiettivo principale del Corso in Lingua Inglese si sostanzia nell'offrire agli studenti gli strumenti idonei, per l'acquisizione di competenze tecnico-linguistiche in Inglese, relative agli insegnamenti che il CdS prevede e nel contempo che permettano loro di comprendere sia brani sia discorsi pertinenti i relativi CdS. Quindi, acquisizione di un lessico tecnico che permetta agli studenti di potersi relazionare con le giuste competenze lingusitiche in Inglese, relative all'ambito disciplinare scelto nel proprio percorso di studi. Inoltre il Corso mira all'acquisizione da parte degli studenti della giusta fluidità nell'ascolto, nel parlare , nello scrivere e nella comprensione in tutte le situazioni quotidiane con le quali lo studente deve rapportarsi

Grammar Programme for Technical English (Specialistica)
Food Science and Forestry

-Present Simple (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms) and Adverbs associated
with Present Simple;
-Present Continuous (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms);
-Use of Present Simple vs. Present Continuous;
-Past Simple Tense (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms), regular and
irregular verbs;
-Used to vs. To be used to;
-Past Continuous (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms);
-Purpose clauses: in order to, so that, etc.;
-Futures: will going to, present continuous used as a future. Expression used with
future meaning: likely to, bound to, etc.;
-Modal verbs: must, can, should, ought to, might, may, shall, will, would. Expressions
which can be used to substitute modal verbs, i.e. to have to, to be able to, to be
allowed to;
-Hypothetical Sentences (Zero, First, Second, Third) and If, unless, provided that, as
long as;
-Relative clauses and pronouns;
-Present Perfect Tense (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms). Use of Present
Perfect compared to use of Past Simple. Duration Form (for, since). Adverbs used
with the Present Perfect;
-Present Perfect Continuous (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms);
-All Passive Forms and Have something done;
-Comparative and superlative of adjectives. Comparative of equality;
-So, such, such a, too, too much, too many, enough;
-Past Perfect (Affirmative, Interrogative, Negative Forms);
-Linking words and connectors;
-Clause of concession;
-Use of Subjunctive.
The programme will also cover a wide range of technical terms used in the study
of Food Science and Forestry together with the writing phrases often used in
articles, reports and research work.
